Furniture Finisher jobs in Akron, OH
Furniture Finisher restores and preserves furniture using variety of hand and power tools. Applies knowledge of fabrics and wood furniture to complete projects. Being a Furniture Finisher may require a high school diploma or its equivalent. May have to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty with 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Additionally, Furniture Finisher is familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Typically reports to a supervisor/manager. (Copyright 2024 Salary.com)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Prepare and deliver boxes
· Prepare and deliver boxes
· Inspect furniture and repair in-house when feasible
· Move boxes and furniture campus-wide
· Occasional moves to other sites and locations
· Clean furniture and apply fabric protection
· Provide keys (note: Security cuts all keys)
· Limited reconditioning of free-standing furniture
· Minor modular furniture modifications (relocate shelf units)
· Coordinate outside vendors
· Scrap obsolete furniture
· Oversee work orders and hours report for billing
Misc. Other
· Maintain shop
· Prepare boxes for moves
· Inventory counts
· Clean used furniture equipment
