Furniture Finisher restores and preserves furniture using variety of hand and power tools. Applies knowledge of fabrics and wood furniture to complete projects. Being a Furniture Finisher may require a high school diploma or its equivalent. May have to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty with 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Additionally, Furniture Finisher is familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Responsibilities:
- Prepare and finish cabinets according to specifications and design requirements
- Apply stains, paints, and other finishes to cabinets using various techniques
- Sand and smooth surfaces to ensure a high-quality finish
- Inspect finished cabinets for defects and make necessary repairs or touch-ups
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of projects
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Cabinet Finisher or similar role
- Strong knowledge of carpentry and cabinet-making techniques
- Familiarity with construction estimating and blueprint reading
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools relevant to cabinet finishing
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Attention to detail and precision in finishing work
- Knowledge of flooring installation, stucco, mold remediation, drywall, masonry, and water damage restoration is a plus
