Furniture Finisher restores and preserves furniture using variety of hand and power tools. Applies knowledge of fabrics and wood furniture to complete projects. Being a Furniture Finisher may require a high school diploma or its equivalent. May have to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty with 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Additionally, Furniture Finisher is familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Service Technician is primarily responsible for the repair of case goods, leather and upholstery furniture. Completing minor furniture repair on all types of product damage, including handling or damages that may occur with furniture purchased in customers homes.
Responsibilities:
Maintains a high level of professionalism and customer service with both internal and external customers, on the phone and in person.
Performs in-home furniture repairs. Goal is 85% completion.
Accurately report situations that occur when repairs cannot be completed.
Must be able to assess damages to determine cause. For example, Driver, Mfg., Customer abuse.
Must maintain safe driving record.
Must maintain clean and stocked service vehicle and records.
Must be able to use digital camera,
Possess good communication skills written and orally.
Report mechanical condition of service vehicle daily.
Respect customer’s property and prevent in home damage due to own actions.
Is able to burn in small scratches, repairs cracks and splits on edges, repairs small leather/vinyl defects utilizing heat cure, adds graining on edge piece repairs, blend colors and sheen in small areas.
Performs simple replacement part repairs.
Tracks and monitors replacement parts.
Maintains proper safety usage of all products that are used within customers’ homes

Compensation: This position pays an hourly rate of $20.00 - $25.00.
Profit sharing is available to eligible employees; this discretionary program is dependent on the profitability of the company.
