Furniture Finisher restores and preserves furniture using variety of hand and power tools. Applies knowledge of fabrics and wood furniture to complete projects. Being a Furniture Finisher may require a high school diploma or its equivalent. May have to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty with 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Additionally, Furniture Finisher is familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Typically reports to a supervisor/manager. (Copyright 2024 Salary.com)

    Requirements

    • Must be proficient in wood product repair, burn-ins, and color matching, refinishing and drawer / door adjustments on case good items.
    • Must be proficient in repairing upholstery and leather products, cleaning, stitching, seat casing and core replacement, minor upholstery and leather repair.
    • Must be proficient in repairing and replacing recliner motors, control switches, mechanism and springs.
    • Must be available to work a flexible schedule, weekends and holidays
