Furniture Finisher restores and preserves furniture using variety of hand and power tools. Applies knowledge of fabrics and wood furniture to complete projects. Being a Furniture Finisher may require a high school diploma or its equivalent. May have to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty with 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Additionally, Furniture Finisher is familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.     Job Summary:
    Peaceful Valley Cabinetry seeks a detail-oriented Cabinet Finisher for staining, painting, and varnishing tasks. Responsibilities include cabinet plan reviews, masking, sanding, finishing, and quality control. Candidates must be able to use tools, communicate effectively, and work under tight deadlines. Physical demands include lifting up to 75 pounds. Adherence to safety protocols is essential. The successful candidate will receive comprehensive training to develop the necessary skills for these and other roles within the company. Compensation renegotiated after training.     Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Read and review cabinet plans.
    • Identify products and components.
    • Mask cabinet interiors.
    • Apply wood staining.
    • Perform prep sanding and system preparation.
    • Finish application.
    • Develop skills in quality control.
    • Participating in training and development programs.
    • Maintain personal safety and a clean and orderly workstation.
    • Perform additional miscellaneous tasks as needed depending on workflow and production demands.

    Required Qualifications:
    • Ability to learn through observation.
    • Openness to feedback for improvement of precision.
    • Basic knowledge of quality control principles or willingness to learn.
    • Ability to learn new skills through on-the-job training.
    • Experience in applying finishes or willingness to learn.
    • Ability to interpret and understand cabinet plans or technical drawings.
    • Proficiency in reading a standard tape measure.
    • Ability to use spray equipment, tape, and masking material, as well as hand tools and power tools.
    • Effective communication of critical information among team members.
    • Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Flexibility and adaptability to handle varied tasks as per production needs.

    Physical Demands:
    • Capable of standing for extended periods, bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, and lifting heavy materials (up to 50 pounds) regularly, sometimes 75 pounds with a team member.
    • Good manual dexterity to handle tools and detailed work.
    • Sufficient visual acuity to see details at close range for precision tasks.
    • Physical endurance to maintain energy throughout long work periods.
