    Your Opportunity

    The Geographic Information System (GIS) Analyst is responsible for providing GIS services to external and/or internal clients in a shared services environment. Work will focus on supporting Environmental Services projects. The GIS Analyst works closely with interdisciplinary project teams to provide high-quality deliverables. The selected candidate will preferably be based out of our Reno NV, Salt Lake City UT, Denver CO, Phoenix AZ, Bellevue WA, Lynnwood WA, or Seattle WA offices, however, a flexible working arrangement (i.e., remote work or combination of office and remote work) may be available with the understanding that working hours will be between 8 am and 5 pm PST.

    Your Key Responsibilities

    • Responsible for the design and management of GIS databases along with the compiling of geographic information to support specific GIS project tasks.
    • Developing high-quality cartographic work products both in the desktop and web environments.
    • Conduct simple to complex spatial analyses using both vector and raster data types to provide insights into environmental, planning, and engineering project tasks.
    • Design and configuration of mobile data collection workflows using Esri-specific mobile applications.
    • Adhering to established cartographic standards and Quality Assurance / Quality Control processes.
    • Collaborating with existing GIS, CAD, and non-geospatial staff members across the company.

    Qualifications

    Your Capabilities and Credentials

    • Significant experience working with the Esri ArcGIS Platform (i.e., Arcmap, ArcPro, ArcGIS Online).
    • Familiarity with ArcGIS Online and/or Portal to publish project sensitive data within custom web maps and applications for consumption by project teams, the client and/or public.
    • Experience configuring Esri mobile data collection applications (e.g., ArcGIS Collector/Field Maps, ArcGIS Survey123, QuickCapture) to meet a wide variety of project field data collection needs.
    • Proficient in both vector and raster data management and analysis techniques.
    • Solid foundation in coordinate system projections and transformations.
    • Ability to prioritize, organize, and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously.
    • Ability to perform work accurately in a detail-oriented environment.
    • Ability to meet project deadlines and understand how assigned tasks relate to overall project goals.
    • Ability to maintain and establish effective working relationships.
    • Interest and ability to internally educate and market GIS and geospatial technologies.

    Education and Experience

    • Bachelor’s or an advanced degree in GIS, geology, geomatics, geotechnical engineering, environmental science, or related field with demonstrated GIS training or coursework.
    • One to three years demonstrated professional work experience performing GIS tasks. An equivalent combination of recent education and job experience may be sufficient to successfully perform the essential job duties.
    • Demonstrated skills in python scripting will be considered valuable.
    • Prior experience within a consulting environment will be considered valuable.
    • Specific experience providing GIS services within the Environmental Services, Power & Dams, Mining, and Oil and Gas industry sectors will be considered a strength but is not required.
    • Knowledge of the NEPA process is a plus.

    Pay transparency laws require employers to provide the following information for positions that may be in the following jurisdiction(s):

    Salary Range(s):

    • $26.44 Per Hour - $37.02 Per Hour Min/Max Pay Range for postings located in CO and HI
    • $28.37 Per Hour - $33.65 Per Hour Min/Max Pay Range for postings located in WA

    The final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.

    Benefits Summary: Regular full-time and part-time employees have access to medical, dental, and vision plans, a wellness program, health saving accounts, flexible spending accounts, 401(k) plan, employee stock purchase program, life and accidental death & dismemberment (AD&D) insurance, short-term/long-term disability plans, emergency travel benefits, tuition reimbursement, professional membership fee coverage and paid family leave. Regular full-time and part-time employees will receive ten paid holidays in each calendar year. In addition, employees will be eligible to accrue vacation between 10 and 20 days per year and eligible for paid sick leave (and if more generous, in accordance with state and local law).

    Temporary/casual employees have access to 401(k) plans, employee stock purchase program, and paid leave, in accordance with state and local law.
