    Sulphur Springs Valley Electric Cooperative is seeking qualified applicants to fill the position of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Analyst in our Sierra Vista, AZ location.

    The GIS Analyst is crucial in managing and analyzing spatial data at Sulphur Springs Valley Electric Cooperative (SSVEC). They are responsible for creating and maintaining maps, databases, reports, dashboards, web forms, and other information products to support SSVEC employees, members, and the community. Utilizing GIS software to update and maintain facilities and land information systems, electric network geodatabases and manage applications across the platform, including server, mobile, and desktop applications. Collaboration is key, as they will work with various teams to create solutions that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of operations across SSVEC.

    The essential functions listed below are general examples and not a description of comprehensive duties.

    • Data management will include configuring GIS software solutions for web browsers, mobile apps, and desktop software for optimal functionality and accessibility.
    • Produce maps, dashboards, surveys, and forms using ArcGIS, ArcFM, and utility-specific applications like outage management to ensure accurate and up-to-date information.
    • This position works on various projects and processes, including cartographic representation of the electric network and special projects, drone, and raster imagery, and more.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Geography, Computer Science, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), or related field or combination of Associate's degree and GIS Certificate and/or relatable military experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities: Experience with GIS, including maintaining, and producing geospatial data and map production, including the use of Esri's ArcGIS suite of software products or similar GIS software; analysis skills, including large dataset summary statistics and trend analysis; understanding of database design and data management; and basic knowledge of GPS and GNSS equipment for field surveys.
    • Valid Arizona driver's license.
