Oversees the production of reports, maps, applications, and visualizations for internal or external stakeholders. Being a GIS Supervisor ensures proper maintenance, documentation, and cleaning of GIS data. Develops methods to leverage GIS data for new applications. Salary Range: $37.2801 - $47.5879, salary reflects Step 2 and Step 7 of a 7-step pay scale. Salary at hiring will be dependent on the applicant's education, experience, and training.
Job Summary:
Under general supervision, designs, develops, expands, and maintains the Geographic Information System (GIS); provides management and coordination of all GIS resources and activities; and visualizes and plans for modifications and improvements to the system by working with a wide variety of staff, elected officials, and citizen groups and individuals. This position requires strong leadership abilities, and a deep understanding of geospatial technology and its applications.

Incumbent has a high degree of understanding of department operations and is able to work with considerable initiative. Working within the overall direction established by senior management, incumbent applies professional principals and judgments when making decisions. Incumbent solves complex technical or strategic problems, applies technology in new ways, and develops and recommends new alternatives, which had moderate impact on the overall organization.
