Oversees the production of reports, maps, applications, and visualizations for internal or external stakeholders. Being a GIS Supervisor ensures proper maintenance, documentation, and cleaning of GIS data. Develops methods to leverage GIS data for new applications. Additionally, GIS Supervisor typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a director. Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced GIS Manager to join our team. The purpose of this job is to perform functions involving all aspects of mapping, addressing and database maintenance for emergency numbering and dispatching.
Duties:
-Using GIS software to prepare computer files of boundaries and street center lines.
-Maintaining Master Street Addressing Guide (MSAG).
-Creating and maintaining maps using manual drafting techniques.
-Oversee and perform street addressing and re-addressing.
-Maintain file systems of aerial photographs, final plats, site plans, project files, etc.
-Performing related clerical functions.
Qualifications:
-Graduate of an accredited high school or possess an acceptable equivalent diploma.
-Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to secure a valid Alabama driver's license.
-Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
-Experience in IT/Networking preferred.
-Experience in ESRI GIS Software preferred.
-Civil engineering, drafting, or related cartography experience.
A comparable amount of training, experience, and education may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.
