GIS Supervisor manages, plans, assigns, and reviews analysts and developers' work on GIS projects. Oversees the production of reports, maps, applications, and visualizations for internal or external stakeholders. Being a GIS Supervisor ensures proper maintenance, documentation, and cleaning of GIS data. Develops methods to leverage GIS data for new applications. Additionally, GIS Supervisor typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a director. The GIS Supervisor manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Purpose of Position
The purpose of this position is to be responsible for developing, maintaining, and operating the geographic information system (GIS) platform and its data on behalf of all City departments. This position provides instruction and support to all City departments which leverage GIS functions and supports integration points between GIS and other systems. The position reports to the Director of Information Systems or his/her designee.

Minimum Training and Experience Required to Perform Essential Job Functions
Associates degree in Geographic Information Systems, Geographic Information Science, or a closely related field with two (2) years of similar work experience or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities. A valid Connecticut Driver’s license within 60 days of hire.
