General Summary:
Under the supervision of the Community Planning & Engagement Director, prepares property descriptions, base road, zoning, land use and thematic maps using various computer programs such as AutoCad, ArcGIS, and Corel Draw. Uses aerial maps and researches existing map records and other pertinent data to create new thematic maps suitable for the use of County Departments and other governmental agencies. Provides information and assistance and reproduces various maps for customers. Maintains and configures the mapping applications used on the internal GIS Portal as well as the ArcGIS Online Portal, for use by county employees and local government staff. Maintains inventory of materials and supplies needed for mapping and graphic arts projects, maintains map files and assists the Planning Department staff with various projects, using various software, such as the various programs in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access etc).
Employment Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree with course work in computer aided mapping/drafting, GIS and computer science.
Experience: Three years experience in computerized mapping, digital orthophotography and GIS applications with experience in working with property descriptions.
