Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Gas Manager to oversee the operations and maintenance of our gas facility. The Gas Manager will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient production and distribution of renewable natural gas. This role requires strong technical knowledge, leadership skills, and the ability to effectively manage a team.
Duties:
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the gas facility, including production and distribution
- Oversee the maintenance and repair of equipment, ensuring that all machinery is in proper working order
- Monitor gas levels and pressure to ensure compliance with safety regulations
- Coordinate with suppliers and contractors to ensure timely delivery of gas and equipment
- Develop and implement operational procedures to optimize efficiency and productivity
- Train and supervise staff on proper equipment operation and safety protocols
- Conduct regular inspections to identify any potential hazards or maintenance needs
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and implement corrective actions as necessary
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth operations and effective communication
Experience Requirements:
- Associate degree, vocational technical diploma, or equivalent technical experience (preferred)
- 5 years of experience working in a process production environment or natural gas industry with understanding of process flow – preferred
- Gas Compression experience: 2 years - preferred
- Manufacturing and operations: 2 years - preferred - Proficiency in logic controllers and distributed control systems
- Strong mechanical knowledge to diagnose and repair equipment malfunctions
- Experience operating heavy equipment such as pumps, chillers and compressors
- Knowledge of oil and gas industry practices and regulations
- Excellent problem-solving skills to address operational challenges effectively
- Manage rotating 24/7 on-call team
- Use of basic handheld instruments and basic computer skills and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook a plus
- Ability to read gas meters and pressure gauges and record information
- Ability to collect and submit gas samples and off-site laboratory analysis
- Must be able to work both independently and as a team member
- Ability to multi-task effectively
