This is a morning shift position.

The purpose of this position is to perform varied duties on the Company's distribution system and other facilities.

Will be doing a variety of work (repair and maintenance, meter reading, construction, etc) on the water distribution system and other water utility facilities.

Duties include:

• Installing of new main/service lines
• Using assigned tools and construction equipment
• Lifting of heavy objects of cast iron pipes, fittings, and chemical containers.
• Replacing meters and meter box lids as required
• Taking corrective action on meter boxes that become misaligned.

Requirements:

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must have a High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Must have a valid Motor Vehicle driver's license.
• Must be able to read, write legibly, and perform mathematical calculations.
• Must be computer literate and capable of operating various portable, handheld, and network computers and devices.
• Must be able to operate portable data loggers and portable computers for meter reading functions.
• Must be able to report any abnormality in the system such as illegal service connections, leaks, maintenance work, faulty meters, or abnormal customer consumption.
• Must be capable of cleaning water and or mud out of meter boxes to read the meter.
• Must be able to lift, carry, and pull objects weighing up to 100 lbs unassisted.
• Must be able to walk, bend, kneel, crawl, stoop, reach, climb stairs or ladders.
• Must be capable of operating a two-way radio, telephone, computer, word processor, typewriter, copier, fax, adding machine, calculator, or other office machines.
