Job Description:
Horseshoe Beach’s General Maintenance Worker is responsible for all maintenance needs of the Town and may be asked to take on some needs of Horseshoe Beach Utilities. All work will be conducted on-site in Horseshoe Beach, FL, paid hourly, with all hours worked project-dependent. Non-urgent projects allow flexibility in scheduling of hours and days worked. The General Maintenance Worker is expected to be available on-call as needed to assist in emergency or urgent situations, except when notice of unavailability has been provided to the Town Office. Estimated workload is 15 hours per week
Projects Include:
· Mowing using a small tractor
· Trimming tree branches on roadways
· Painting
· Maintaining/replacing water meter boxes
· Street sign maintenance
· Cleaning storage facilities
· Plumbing repairs
· Assisting councilmembers with projects on request
Required Qualifications:
· Working knowledge and practice of occupational safety standards
· Ability to stand, sit, kneel, crouch, and repeatedly lift objects greater than 25 pounds
· Current FL driver’s license or other driver’s license recognized by FLHSMV
· Willingness and ability to work outside year-round in all weather conditions in Horseshoe Beach
· Positive, customer-friendly attitude when interfacing with citizens and Town staff
· Willingness and ability to learn on-the-job
· Attention to detail; organizing skills
· Reliable transportation to Horseshoe Beach
Desired Skills:
· Experience in general maintenance or contracting in Florida
· Ability to operate automatic and manual-transmission tractors and attachments
· Experience with work order documentation
