General Maintenance Worker maintains, services, and conducts minor repairs on buildings and equipment. Performs a variety of semiskilled duties in the areas of plumbing, carpentry, electrical, painting, or plastering. Being a General Maintenance Worker assists maintenance engineers and other workers with their tasks. Complies with established safety guidelines and procedures. Additionally, General Maintenance Worker may require a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The General Maintenance Worker works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. This position provides direct support to our physiatry providers who specialize in pediatric rehabilitative medicine. This means you will work closely with physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, equipment specialists, and certified orthotist/prosthetists- all in one location. In this role, you also have the unique opportunity to help manage baclofen pumps.

- Analyzes clinical information
- Assesses/plans/Implements/evaluates condition.
- Evaluates the quality and effectiveness of nursing interventions
- Documents in the Electronic Medical Record
- Attends required meetings
- Provides leadership to support staff
- Maintains professional relationships with physicians and the interdisciplinary team
- Educates/teaches staff, families, and patients
- Promotes health and safety
- Assists in rooming patients and taking and recording vitals
- Schedules patients
- Interrogates baclofen pumps, performs baclofen pump refills, and is part of the baclofen pump on-call team
