Genetics Counselor provides genetic counseling and education to individuals and families at risk for hereditary disorders. Obtains and analyzes family medical history to identify patients at risk for specific disorders or syndromes. Being a Genetics Counselor recommends genetic testing as warranted and counsels patients on test results, treatment and alternative coping methods. May provide crisis intervention as needed. Additionally, Genetics Counselor requires a master's degree of Genetic Counseling. Typically reports to a manager or director. Requires board certification from the American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC) or American Board of Medical Genetics (ABMG). Typically requires a state license to practice. Select Genetics is a premier supplier of eggs and poults around the country and the world. We have three operations in North Carolina: Goldsboro, Raeford, and Wadesboro and we are looking for interns in those divisions.
In this role students will gain exposure to multiple facets of the turkey operations. Over the 10-12 week internship, students will learn from service techs, crew leaders, and managers on the various tasks required to maintain our daily poultry operations. Students will spend time on multiple farms learning about the breeding and hatching processes, egg picking, bio-security, fertility issues, people management, leadership and more. Students will be trained in various roles such as egg picking, vaccination and insemination, and will also cover the skills necessary to lead and manage crews.
