Genetics Counselor jobs in La Crosse, WI
Genetics Counselor provides genetic counseling and education to individuals and families at risk for hereditary disorders. Obtains and analyzes family medical history to identify patients at risk for specific disorders or syndromes. Being a Genetics Counselor recommends genetic testing as warranted and counsels patients on test results, treatment and alternative coping methods. May provide crisis intervention as needed. Additionally, Genetics Counselor requires a master's degree of Genetic Counseling. Typically reports to a manager or director. Requires board certification from the American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC) or American Board of Medical Genetics (ABMG). Typically requires a state license to practice. DescriptionWe are seeking a School Counselor to join our dynamic High School team and work in collaboration with staff, students, families, and community stakeholders to promote student success, provide preventative services and work with students who have identified needs. This individual will also use the Wisconsin Comprehensive School Counseling Model and the American school Counselor Association National Model to support student services for students in grades 9-12. • Master’s degree in School Counseling. • Certification through the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction as a School Counselor. • Experience with crisis plans and crisis teamwork helpful.
