LOCATION OF POSITION: Monroe One BOCES -11 Linden Park; Office of School Improvement
TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: 11 Month Position, Full Time, Probationary; Opening for the 2024-2025 School Year
STARTING DATE: June 1, 2024
SALARY RANGE: $47,500 - $77,991
- Actual salary is dependant on education, experience and contract.
DUTIES:
1. Assist districts in gathering information from non-public schools in their boundaries to meet annual reporting requirements and to comply with all regulations outlined in the Substantial Equivalency Review and Determination Process.
2. Collect, maintain and oversee all required student education records in adherence to the New York State Department of Education Home Instruction Regulations.
3. Work collaboratively with district partners to ensure accurate record keeping of all regulatory processes.
4. Attend team and professional development meetings.
5. Work in a team environment that fosters the philosophy of collaborative planning and an interdisciplinary approach to supporting districts and providing guidance.
6. Effectively communicate and collaborate with department staff, parents, district partners, and community agencies.
7. Maintain department website to support communication/information accessibility with districts and parents as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. NYS Certification as a School Counselor is required.
2. Knowledge and experience supporting home school students and the NYS Regulations for Home School preferred.
3. Knowledge of Substantial Equivalency Pathways preferred.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – both orally and in writing
5. Knowledge of NYS graduation requirements.
6. Knowledge of the NYS Social Emotional Learning (SEL) benchmarks is preferred.
7. Knowledge and experience with Office 365. Specifically: Outlook Email, Calendar, Teams, and Excel basics
8. Physically able to perform essential functions of the position (with or without reasonable accommodation).
