Genetics Counselor provides genetic counseling and education to individuals and families at risk for hereditary disorders. Obtains and analyzes family medical history to identify patients at risk for specific disorders or syndromes. Being a Genetics Counselor recommends genetic testing as warranted and counsels patients on test results, treatment and alternative coping methods. May provide crisis intervention as needed. Additionally, Genetics Counselor requires a master's degree of Genetic Counseling. Typically reports to a manager or director. Requires board certification from the American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC) or American Board of Medical Genetics (ABMG). Typically requires a state license to practice. Description
Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Coordinate cross-functional product advancement teams and collaborate with the commercial teams to support successful new product introductions.
• Manage product life cycle and range with the objective of optimizing revenue and minimizing accumulation of deadwood and slow-moving inventories.
• Work with Breeding and Seed Production team to manage seed availability for varieties at the development and market introduction stages. Coordinate pre-commercial seed distribution process to support product development.
• Manage and maintain product and market information in company databases. Maintain appropriate product tools and technical data sheets.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Technical and Analytical: Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word; Excel; Outlook and Powerpoint). Analytical mind to recognize and understand available technology to use in development of new products. Able to use basic computer software and perform analytical analysis to obtain the expected results. Knowledge of agricultural agronomics, plant nutrient requirements, irrigation scheduling, pest identification and management and cultural operations. Adept at focusing attention to detail. Ability to balance goals within logistical and budgetary guidelines.
Administrative and Operations:
Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, and production methods. Work with budgets and maintain within approved spend levels. Ability to plan and execute to meet deadlines. Physical Demands: Participate in constructive feedback. Deal calmly and effectively in a seasonally demanding work environment. Working flexible hours or over-time on short notice may be required. Must be able to work in the office and fields/greenhouses under various ambient conditions, particularly reduced air-quality and in periods of high temperatures possible exceeding 100 degrees F. Must be physically fit to walk, bend, kneel, squat, bend your neck, and lift up to 50 lbs. Agro-industrial and lab chemicals are sustainably used on site in compliance and in accordance to regulations.
Travel: Domestic and international travel is required, approximately 40% of the time.
Work Environment: Office, outdoor and greenhouse work with seasonal temperatures close to 100 degrees, walk on uneven surface and within limits, be exposed to chemicals. Fahrenheit or more, walk on uneven surface, dusty conditions and often be exposed to chemicals.
Special Equipment Used: Using computers and computer systems (software) to set up functions, enter data, track or process information.
