Genetics Counselor provides genetic counseling and education to individuals and families at risk for hereditary disorders. Obtains and analyzes family medical history to identify patients at risk for specific disorders or syndromes. Being a Genetics Counselor recommends genetic testing as warranted and counsels patients on test results, treatment and alternative coping methods. May provide crisis intervention as needed. Additionally, Genetics Counselor requires a master's degree of Genetic Counseling. Typically reports to a manager or director. Requires board certification from the American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC) or American Board of Medical Genetics (ABMG). Typically requires a state license to practice.     What will you do? As a Therapist at Aspire Health Partners, your job purpose will be to provide a variety of essential functions to in the provision of services to program participants.

    These functions include:

    • Providing therapeutic interventions in individual and/or group settings to participants.
    • Creating, updating and monitoring progress on participant treatment plans.
    • Completing program specific assessments.
    • Documenting client treatment details in the Electronic Health Record.
    • Providing ongoing communication to the program team regarding changes, issues or needs of participants or of the program in general.
    • Assisting the program team as directed with the operation of the program.
    • Providing appropriate discharge planning and referral.
    • Maintaining compliance by completing necessary and ongoing training and engaging in all staff meetings as directed.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Master's Degree in social services
    • 1 year experience working with target population preferred
    • Pass a Level II Background clearance
