    B&N is looking for a passionate, ambitious Geologist to join our Environmental Services Division in Columbus, OH focusing on brownfield redevelopment and environmental assessments. This position will manage a variety of brownfield and environmental site assessment projects and offers growth for professional and personal development with occasional field work.

    B&N Geologist Responsibilities

    • Working with a team of professionals, collect and evaluate environmental data and install sample collection points.
    • Perform and manage Phase I and Phase II environmental site assessments.
    • As a project manager, coordinate on-site field sampling of soil, groundwater, sediment, and surface water to assess projects sites.
    • Perform data reduction, evaluation and report writing for projects related to brownfield redevelopment and restoration.
    • Mentor and train less experienced staff in sampling.

    Skills and Qualifications

    • Bachelor of Science in Geology or other related Earth or Soil science
    • 10 years of related project management experience including strong knowledge of Phase I and Phase II site assessments, specifically brownfields
    • Ohio Voluntary Action Program certified professional or Licensed Professional Geologist a plus
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite
    • A valid driver's license with acceptable driving history
    • Ability to work outside in all weather conditions and traverse uneven terrain
    • Ability to travel up to 30% of time, including overnight stays
    • Effective written/verbal communication and organization/analytical skills
