Additionally, Geologist tests mineral quality and purity to determine feasibility of mining. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Provides technical assistance and guidance for multi-site/phase environmental work processes, due diligence, subsurface investigation, and remediation projects. Conducts geophysical surveys and performs analysis of geological data from various media (soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment, air/vapor). Substantiates reports and documentation to advise on field conditions, movement, and outcome of overall risks to ecological and human health. Assists project leadership with site assessment, corrective strategies, classification of contaminated materials, and assisting with their treatment, disposal, and/or onsite remediation. Ensures that responsibilities are delivered and adhered to with a level of quality that meets or exceeds acceptable industry standards.
