Additionally, Geologist tests mineral quality and purity to determine feasibility of mining. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.   • Job DescriptionRESPEC, an internationally recognized engineering consulting and services company, seeks a motivated geologist to join our Rapid City, SD, team. The Geologist will work with a multifaceted engineering team on a variety of energy-related projects, ranging from underground energy storage to geothermal to carbon sequestration.  Typical work activities will include project siting, well log analysis, permitting, reservoir characterization, core logging, drilling support, and other related scope items associated with the energy industry. RESPEC supports a diverse range of energy projects spanning the globe, offering a qualified geologist candidate exposure to an exciting mix of geologic settings and clients.  Project work will typically be performed from a desktop setting; however, occasional travel to project sites is expected.Required Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Geology and at least 5 years of experience; OR a master’s degree in geology preferred and at least 2 years of experienceA minimum of 3 years of experience with geophysical well log analysis and interpretationAt least 2 years of experience working with an engineering team in delivering comprehensive subsurface projectsFamiliarity with project databases, well logging software, QA/QC programs, and drill-sample collection and processing proceduresA minimum of 2 years of experience with a variety of geologic settings and environmentsCertified Professional Geologist (CPG) and/or Professional Geologist (P.Geo) licensure, or the ability to obtain.Compensation: Salary depends on experience and expertise.
