  • We are seeking a motivated and driven Geophysicist/Engineering Geologist to join our team and support engineering projects throughout the country. An ideal candidate will have geophysical education and experience and interest in developing new geophysical skills and experience. This role is also designed to support geotechnical investigations involving soil borings, test pits, pile load testing, etc. The base location associated with this role is Columbus, OH or Austin, TX.

    “Must-have” profile of the successful candidate includes:

    • BS in Geophysics, Geological Sciences, or Civil Engineering;
    • 1 to 5 years of experience in engineering or environmental consulting;
    • Flexibility and openness to overnight travel to conduct field investigations, sometimes including weekends and on short notice;
    • Ability to perform field work in adverse conditions, including carrying up to 50 pounds of equipment, swinging a sledgehammer, etc.;
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products;
    • Valid US Driver’s License and a reliable means of transportation;
    • Great verbal and written communication skills, ability to find solutions to problems, and a get-it-done attitude!

    “Nice-to-have” skills for the successful candidate may include:

    • MS in Geophysics, Geological Sciences, or Civil Engineering;
    • Experience with geophysical field work, including resistivity and seismic methods;
    • Working knowledge of geophysical data processing software such as EarthImager, SurfSEIS/ParkSEIS, SeisImager, etc;
    • Experience with geotechnical field investigations and analyses;
    • Experience using GPS (Trimble) equipment and software;
    • Attained GIT/EIT designation or PG/PE license (or working toward licensure);
    • Project management training and experience;
    • OSHA 10-Hour and HAZWOPER certifications;
    • Active participation in professional and community societies.
