Glass Cutter/Finisher operates automatic equipment that burns, scores, and breaks continuous sheets of glass into specific lengths. May require a high school diploma or its equivalent. Being a Glass Cutter/Finisher may have to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty with 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Additionally, Glass Cutter/Finisher relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.     The Penny Ice Creamery, founded in Santa Cruz, CA makes ice cream completely from scratch, in house, using local and organic ingredients sourced from local farms and foragers. We make unique flavors like Honey Lavender, Earl of Grey, and Raspberry Rose! We also make timeless flavors like Cookies n' Cream and Straight Up Strawberry, and our classics like Fresh Mint Chip, Tahitian Vanilla Bean, and Dark Chocolate.

    As an Ice Cream Scooper, you will be creating a fun and memorable experience for our guests by scooping ice cream, making ice cream sundaes and milkshakes and various novelty items, making coffee and tea drinks, and of course toasting that marshmallow fluff.


    We currently operate six Penny Ice Creamery locations across Santa Cruz County and Santa Clara County:

    -Downtown Santa Cruz
    -Pleasure Point in Capitola
    -Aptos Village
    -Scotts Valley
    -Palo Alto
    -Los Altos

    Requirements


    -Must have availability during the week, weekends and holidays on a reliable basis.
    -Must be available to work 20 hours a week on a reliable basis.
    -Preference will be given to individuals with experience in food service, although we will train the right person.
    -Ability to work autonomously, and as part of a team.
    -Ability to prioritize and work in a fast-paced environment.
    -Up To Date COVID-19 Vaccination & Booster (see below)

    The Glass Jar, Inc. currently requires all staff to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, and requires boosters for those who are eligible and overdue. Federal law allows for medical and/or religious exemptions under a limited set of circumstances.
