Role:
- The role of this position is to directly support production and sales professionals with existing products and new products technical support to develop, improve and maintain the operation within the business environment. The role is a technical role utilizing glass working and forming knowledge with the combination of fire arrangement, tooling, and specialized machinery to achieve objective put forth.
Environment:
- Manufacturing Plant
- Can be very hot during certain seasons
Essential Job Functions:
- Processing of various set up requirements to create glass parts and componentry.
- Build, develop and support engineering projects and development of new methods, machinery, and processes.
- Some fabrication of machine parts, tooling and gauges as needed.
- Document and train skilled personnel as positive hand off with manufacturing.
- Support machine repair, rebuilds, and sub-assembly rebuilds performed by Engineering and Maintenance teams.
- Work with engineers and department heads to find solutions to production challenges.
- Brainstorm on new product design and development.
- Communicate status of projects to upper management.
- Organize and maintain an efficient, safe, clean, and efficient workspaces utilizing 5S techniques.
- Interface with quality groups on requirements and if needed recommendations to improve design and function.

Qualifications and Experience Required:
- 3 to 5 years of glass forming or working experience necessary
- Understanding of fires and fire controls
- Familiar with automation within lathes, robotics, and specialized machinery.
Individual Requirements:
- Work in plant environment up to 90°F
- Alternately sitting and standing up to 85% daily
- Lifting up to 40 lbs. 2-3 times per day
- Lifting up to 10 lbs. up to 5 times per hour
- Ability to work at heights up to 16 ft.
- Frequent bending and reaching throughout the day
Education Required:
- High School Diploma or GED required
