Glass Cutter/Finisher jobs in Washington, DC
Glass Cutter/Finisher operates automatic equipment that burns, scores, and breaks continuous sheets of glass into specific lengths. May require a high school diploma or its equivalent. Being a Glass Cutter/Finisher may have to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty with 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Additionally, Glass Cutter/Finisher relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Job Summary
We are seeking a Glass Installer to join our team! As a Glass Installer, you will be traveling to different job sites, inspecting the area, and installing a variety of different glass & metal products based on the client's needs.
These residential products include windows, doors, shower glass, mirrors, replacement glass & film. The commercial products include Storefronts, Curtainwalls, All Glass Doors & Partitions, Skylites, Glass Railings, Glass Canopies, Metal Panels, Sound Control Windows, Ballistic Glazing, Blast Windows and much more.
You will also be maintaining a safe, clean work environment, taking accurate measurements of the space, and answering client questions on-site.
The ideal candidate works well in a team environment, has excellent attention to detail, and strong communication skills.
Responsibilities
Travel to job sites, observe and measure the designated area, and determine the needs of the client
Accurately and safely install glass of many types, with strong attention to detail
Communicate professionally and effectively with the clients to keep them informed of their projects
Qualifications
Excellent communication skills
Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills
The ability to work well independently or within a team
The ability to lift and carry heavy objects safety
