Glazier installs glass in windows, skylights, store fronts, and display cases, or on surfaces such as building fronts, interior walls, ceilings, and tabletops. May require a high school diploma or its equivalent. Being a Glazier may have to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty with 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Additionally, Glazier relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. ```Duties:```
- Install glass in windows, storefronts, showers and other structures
- Measure and cut glass to specified dimensions
- Remove broken or damaged glass and prepare the area for installation
- Fabricate and assemble metal frames for glass installation
- Apply caulk, sealants, and weather stripping to ensure proper insulation and weatherproofing
- Install and adjust hardware, such as hinges, handles, and locks
- Use hand tools and power tools to complete installation tasks
- Clean up work areas and dispose of debris properly
This position requires a high level of attention to detail, manual dexterity, physical stamina, and the ability to work at heights. Candidates must also have good communication skills and be able to work both independently and as part of a team.
