Government Affairs Director implements strategic plans and oversees engagement objectives to develop and maintain productive relations with all levels of government authorities that will support and enhance the businesses' goals. Manages teams that build relationships and liaise with government entities(federal, state, provincial, or local) that regulate or influence business activities. Being a Government Affairs Director performs ongoing monitoring and analysis of proposed legislation, emerging issues, and trends to determine the potential impact on the organization. Collaborates with industry groups and organizations with complementary objectives to achieve objectives. Additionally, Government Affairs Director creates communication vehicles and delivers messaging to inform and support business leaders. Requires a bachelor's degree in public policy, public administration, business or equivalent. Typically reports to a director. The Government Affairs Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Government Affairs Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     Role Description:

This position plays a vital role in sourcing, attracting, and retaining talent while supporting a strong team culture.  We are looking for an energetic and enthusiastic HR Generalist who aligns with our values to join our People Operations team and support our team.
    Responsibilities:
    • Manage end-to-end recruitment process, from initial job requisition to onboarding
    • Collaborate with hiring managers to define job requirements and develop effective job descriptions
    • Source candidates through various channels, including job boards, social media and referrals
    • Conduct interviews, assess candidate qualifications, and present recommendations to hiring managers
    • Facilitate the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a smooth transition into the organization
    • Respond to employees’ queries and resolves HR issues in a timely and professional manner
    • Provide guidance and support to employees on HR policies, procedures, and best practices
    • Support HR analytics by running and sometimes developing regular and ad hoc reports to support business objectives
    • Demonstrates flexibility and willingness to perform other responsibilities as requested
    • Occasional travel (10%) may be requested

    Required Skills/Abilities:
    • Ability to connect with candidates and new hires
    • Experience in hiring hourly employees preferred
    • Foundation in general HR knowledge and competencies
    • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills
    • Strong attention to detail
    • Ability to act with empathy, professionalism, and confidentiality
    • A customer service oriented attitude
    • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn ADP Workforce Now and JazzHR (ATS)

    Education and Experience:
    Required:
    • Associates degree in HR or related field, but experience and/or other training/certification may be substituted for the education.

    Preferred:
    • 3-5 years experience in HR and/or Recruiting
    • Bachelors degree in human resources or related field of study.
    • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) credential.
    Physical Requirements:
    • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
    • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
    Supervisory Responsibilities:
    • None.

    Location:
    We have a strong preference for this employee to work out of either the Findlay, OH or Hudson, MA office at least two days a week.
