Salary Range: $65,000 – $70,000

Reports to: Chief Development Officer
Position Summary
The Director of Foundation, Corporate, & Government Relations is primarily responsible for managing the organization’s foundation, corporate, and government funding strategy and external communications including, but not limited to, press releases and annual reports. Responsibilities include grant research, writing, production, delivery, stewardship, evaluation, and measurement functions (in consultation with appropriate departments), targeting foundations, corporations, and government agencies. This role will strategically expand the organization’s foundation, corporate, and government giving with a goal of annually increasing support for programs and priorities.

Position Description:
- Develop and implement the organization’s annual grants strategy and budget, prioritizing one-time and recurring opportunities of $10,000 - $250,000
- Prepare and submit grant requests, including letters, proposals, budgets, presentations, and other supporting materials.
- Collaborate with appropriate departments and staff to ensure the grants strategy and grant proposals are mission-driven and meet the needs of the organization.
- Maintain a portfolio of contacts and conduct stewardship activities related to foundation, corporate, and government support, engaging board members in key relationship development.
- Identify success metrics for foundation, corporate, and government fundraising, and set goals according to these metrics, for the organization and individual funders.
- Research foundation, corporate, government, and other institutional prospects and share funding opportunities with relevant staff to ensure timely decision making.
- Collaborate with appropriate departments to track and report for grant awards to ensure fulfillment of donor intent and stated metrics and outcomes.
- Develop messaging for written materials and presentations, including press releases and annual reports, that reflect BGCCVA’s mission and values to promote the organization with internal and external constituencies.
- Receive media inquiries and work with appropriate staff to ensure timely response.
- Support initiatives and priorities across the Resource Development department and board resource development committee, including, but not limited to, special events, campaigns, and solicitations.
- Develop and oversee board government engagement committee.
- Report progress at rural and corporate board meetings as requested.
- Create and support opportunities, systems, and expectations that promote an organizational culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Attend and support special events.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent writing, analytical, and research skills required to craft funding proposals in a clear and compelling manner.
- Clear understanding of non-profit financial, grant tracking, and reporting processes
- Demonstrated ability to engage and inspire internal and external constituents.
- Ability to develop strategic communications content.
- Three years of grant proposal writing, and research experience preferred.
- Ability to work well independently and within a highly collaborative team environment.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as appropriate for occasional special events and civic meetings.

- Working knowledge of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and grant database
Education and Certifications:
- Minimum of a bachelor's degree preferred.
