Government Affairs Manager implements strategic plans and oversees engagement objectives to develop and maintain productive relations with all levels of government authorities that will support and enhance the businesses' goals. Manages teams that build relationships and liaise with government entities(federal, state, provincial, or local) that regulate or influence business activities. Being a Government Affairs Manager performs ongoing monitoring and analysis of proposed legislation, emerging issues, and trends to determine the potential impact on the organization. Collaborates with industry groups and organizations with complementary objectives to achieve objectives. Additionally, Government Affairs Manager creates communication vehicles and delivers messaging to inform and support business leaders. Requires a bachelor's degree in public policy, public administration, business or equivalent. Typically reports to a director. The Government Affairs Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions.     • Build relationships with existing customers and identify new areas of opportunities to improve their experience.
    • Identify new ways to positively impact our culture and community
    • Work as an active member of the Sales team to manage the school & government business while maintaining contract compliance and executing contract fulfillment.
    • Lead the school & government team in the execution of all school and government contracts.

    Job Description:

    • Adhere to local, state and federal regulations regarding school nutrition and their application to our contract fulfilment
    • Increase sales by promoting customer specific products and assisting with creative menu selections.
    • Handle escalated customer concerns with speed and knowledgeable support to achieve optimal satisfaction and maintain long-term loyalty.
    • Evaluate current service needs and product satisfaction levels with established customers to improve offerings.
    • Improve business productivity by training team members on best practices and protocols.
    • Develop and execute strategic initiatives to implement key changes and improvements in business development and sales programs as they relate to school nutrition programs and contracts.
    • Lead school and government Account Manager(s) responsible for school orders, school customer service needs, and the timely execution of both.
    • Develop short-term and long-term sales objectives and strategic plans to meet market needs and position our company for successful yearly contract bids and renewals
    • Oversee annual contract bids and renewals with accuracy while meeting all related dates and timelines
    • Monitor all incoming contracts and service agreements for correct pricing and information.
    • Create policies and procedures meeting regulatory guidelines and compliance standards.
    • Partner with our accounting team members to ensure accurate and timely billing and collections.
    • Ensure timely invoicing and credit issuance to government entities to meet contract regulations.
    • Meet with key stakeholders in school nutrition leadership at the local and state level to build relationships and trust equity on behalf of Foster.
    • Coordinate with Foster departments responsible for executing school nutrition service levels to ensure accuracy and excellence
