Government Affairs Manager implements strategic plans and oversees engagement objectives to develop and maintain productive relations with all levels of government authorities that will support and enhance the businesses' goals. Manages teams that build relationships and liaise with government entities(federal, state, provincial, or local) that regulate or influence business activities. Being a Government Affairs Manager performs ongoing monitoring and analysis of proposed legislation, emerging issues, and trends to determine the potential impact on the organization. Collaborates with industry groups and organizations with complementary objectives to achieve objectives. Additionally, Government Affairs Manager creates communication vehicles and delivers messaging to inform and support business leaders. Requires a bachelor's degree in public policy, public administration, business or equivalent. Typically reports to a director. The Government Affairs Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. As a Government Affairs Manager, you will report directly to Axon’s Director of Government Affairs and work closely with internal and external stakeholders to support the team’s legislative and regulatory, sales procurement, and grassroots advocacy efforts. You will help drive Axon’s presence and position with state, city and county governments related to issues impacting the company, the sales team, and the industry. You will be a representative of Axon and lead meetings with state, city and county government officials to advance Axon’s position with relevant government and law enforcement stakeholders, as well as to drive broader awareness and support for Axon’s mission. In addition to the specific requirements listed below, the Manager should be highly motivated, enjoy working in a fast-paced and often changing environment, have the ability to learn quickly, and be adept at setting priorities and anticipating needs.
Location: Remote. Can be based anywhere in the United States, preferably in Western United States. Must live within an hour of a major airport and willing to travel 50% of time.

The Pay: Axon is a total compensation company, meaning compensation is made up of base pay, bonus, and stock awards. The starting base pay for this role is between USD 78,000 in the lowest geographic market and USD 150,000 in the highest geographic market. The on target earnings range for this role is between USD 104,000 in the lowest geographic market and USD 200,000 in the highest geographic market. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: level, function, training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, geographic market, and often a combination of all these factors.
