Government Affairs Manager implements strategic plans and oversees engagement objectives to develop and maintain productive relations with all levels of government authorities that will support and enhance the businesses' goals. Manages teams that build relationships and liaise with government entities(federal, state, provincial, or local) that regulate or influence business activities. Being a Government Affairs Manager performs ongoing monitoring and analysis of proposed legislation, emerging issues, and trends to determine the potential impact on the organization. Collaborates with industry groups and organizations with complementary objectives to achieve objectives. Additionally, Government Affairs Manager creates communication vehicles and delivers messaging to inform and support business leaders. Requires a bachelor's degree in public policy, public administration, business or equivalent. Typically reports to a director. The Government Affairs Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Government Affairs Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Responsibilities:

    • Program Oversight:
    • Manage and oversee the boat maintenance and repair program, ensuring its efficient operation and alignment with organizational objectives.
    • Implement strategic initiatives to optimize the program's effectiveness and meet performance goals.
    • Compliance Management:
    • Ensure strict compliance with the Performance Work Statement (PWS) to meet contractual obligations and deliver high-quality boat maintenance services to the Navy.
    • Conduct regular audits and assessments to verify compliance with Navy regulations and standards.
    • Coordination with CNRMA Port Operations:
    • Collaborate with CNRMA Port Operations personnel to coordinate maintenance schedules, ensuring timely and efficient servicing of small boats.
    • Foster strong working relationships with stakeholders to enhance program coordination.
    • Resource Management:
    • Manage personnel and resources effectively to meet program objectives and deliver exceptional boat maintenance services.
    • Develop and implement resource allocation strategies to optimize efficiency.

    Qualifications:

    • Extensive experience in managing boat maintenance and repair programs, demonstrating a proven track record of successful program oversight.
    • In-depth knowledge of Navy regulations and standards related to boat maintenance and repair.
    • Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to manage and inspire a team of professionals.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders.
    • Proven ability to navigate and interpret contractual agreements, including the Performance Work Statement (PWS).
    • Willingness to work primarily at Norfolk Naval Station with responsibility for oversight at all work locations.
