Government Sales Manager manages and directs a sales force to achieve sales to government agencies. Designs and recommends sales programs and sets short- and long-term sales strategies. Being a Government Sales Manager evaluates and implements appropriate new sales techniques to increase the department's sales volume. May recommend product or service enhancements to improve customer satisfaction and sales potential. Additionally, Government Sales Manager ensures projects are completed on time and within budget. Acts as advisor to sales team regarding projects, tasks, and operations. May require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to head of a unit/department. The Government Sales Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Government Sales Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     The Program Manager will monitor all aspects of their projects to improve performance across cost, schedule, safety, and quality. This position will also work daily with the Contract Site Leads to ensure program execution performance.

    Duties/Responsibilities:

    • Organizing projects and activities in accordance with the mission of the organization.
    • Creating and managing long-term goals.
    • Managing projects with a varying amount of personnel assigned; all with a diverse array of talents and responsibilities.
    • Managing personnel assigned to a project on a daily basis.
    • Implementing and managing changes and interventions to ensure project goals (in the areas of cost, schedule, satisfaction, safety, quality, and Team performance) are achieved.
    • Meeting with stakeholders / customers to make communication easy and transparent regarding project execution, issues, and decisions on services.
    • Producing accurate and timely reporting of program status throughout its life cycle.
    • Working on strategy with the marketing team.

    Job Qualifications:

    • Possess a very good understanding of project management
    • Conscientious with demonstrated initiative
    • Able to understand performance work statement (PWS) requirements and implement
    • Responsible for all assigned projects and that they meet all performance requirements per the PWS / statement of work (SOW) and achieve goals for cost, schedule, and quality
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office (outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel). Primavera Project and Microsoft Project schedules and be proficient in Microsoft Word, and Excel.

    Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or related field
    • 5 to 8 years minimum experience in program management and/or project management
    • 1-year minimum, 3 to 5 years preferred, experience on Federal projects; especially with DoD
    • PMP Qualification a plus
