Our company is seeking three experienced manufacturing employees for the Flat Sheet Operator 3x6 role (first, second and third shift).

    Primary Responsibilities:

    • Operate hydraulic press for the forming and curing of company product parts, generally making sheet materials of 1/64’ to 2’ thickness.
    • Make own set-up for sheet materials consisting of setting of specified thickness for finished sheet, adjusting for specified curing temperature, time cycle and to compensate for variable conditions.
    • Check ‘jell time’ prior to first use of liquid mix to assure compliance with specified time range. If time does not fall within range, report to proper supervisor for necessary adjustments

    Knowledge, Skills & Ability:

    • Lay out glass sheeting in prescribed order.
    • Apply designated weight of liquid resin and spread to obtain proper coverage.
    • Insert in press and center correctly.
    • Close press and cure.
    • At completion of time cycle open press and remove part from platen. Use micrometer to check part thickness and make any adjustments to closed press height to obtain specified thickness.
    • Evaluate quality of molded sheets in terms of visual appearance, completeness of fill or wet out, uniformity of surface and absence of voids or delaminations.
    • Trim edges using hand tools.
    • Blow and clean platen as necessary.
    • Resin mix and other materials delivered to area by others.
    • Use chain hoist to elevate mix to using position.
    • Perform a variety of similar or associated duties as required or directed.
    • Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
    • Detect and report all defective materials and unusual conditions to foreman.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Ability to lift 45-50 lbs.
    • Ability to push/pull up to 75 lbs.
    • Basic reading.
    • Basic shop math.
    • Micrometer knowledge.
    • Ruler knowledge.
