We are seeking a skilled and experienced Lumber Grader to join our team.

As a Lumber Grader, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and accuracy of lumber products that are produced or received by our company. Your keen eye for detail and expertise in grading lumber will contribute to maintaining the highest standards of quality in our operations.

Responsibilities:

• Inspect and grade lumber products based on industry standards and specifications.
• Identify and classify defects, such as knots, splits, wane, and other imperfections, in the lumber.
• Measure and mark lumber to determine its dimensions, length, and width.
• Record and document grading results, ensuring accurate and detailed records are maintained.
• Collaborate with other team members to maintain a smooth flow of lumber production and distribution.
• Monitor and maintain equipment and tools used in the grading process to ensure optimal performance.
• Adhere to safety regulations and protocols to create a safe working environment.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Lumber Grader or similar role.
• Deep understanding of lumber grading rules, standards, and specifications.
• Strong knowledge of different wood species and their characteristics.
• Excellent visual inspection skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to operate lumber grading equipment and tools effectively.
• Physical stamina to handle and maneuver lumber products.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
