    • Position Summary

      The Department of Medical Education at MaineHealth seeks an administrative director to advance education initiatives and services across the MaineHealth system. This is a rare opportunity to join a fast-paced, mission driven leadership team promoting a culture of lifelong learning. The individual will lead education services teams in multiple areas including supervision and coaching of staff.  This person will serve as an institutional liaison with both internal and external parties; represent the department of medical education in multiple internal forums, serve on various internal committees, collaborate with academic and teaching institutions, and complete projects and advance initiatives as directed by the Vice President.  

      The right person for this job will have extensive experience with program design, management and evaluation, budgeting and fiscal management experience. This person possesses a sophisticated level of diplomacy, is able to assess risk and opportunities in alignment with organizational goals, effectively navigates team dynamics, is strategic, and a successful manager and leader. 
      The ideal candidate will have both administrative and clinical experience in healthcare. 

    • Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
      • Education: Master’s or Doctoral degree preferred.
      • License/Certification: N/A.
      • Experience: A minimum of two to three (2-3) years’ experience in Medical Education; Five (5) or more years preferred.
      • Effective managerial experience and skills.
      • Comprehensive knowledge of information technology systems.
      • High level of managerial and organizational skills; ability to supervise and support employee performance.
      • High level of written and verbal communication skills required. Ability to interact with diverse physicians and managers.
      • Knowledge of Undergraduate, Graduate and Continuing Medical Education.
