Description
The Assistant Hall Director is a graduate assistant position that works collaboratively with the Student Affairs staff to create a positive learning environment within the residence halls that is consistent with the mission of the college.
Reporting to the Director for Housing & Residence Life, the Assistant Hall Director is responsible for the day-to-day management of a residential community of all on-campus students. Providing direction, mentorship and supervision to their staff of Resident Assistants (RAs), the Assistant Hall Director works to foster healthy and positive communities that are educational and engaging for their residents. The Assistant Hall Director serves on the on-call rotation, participates in departmental projects such as RA Selection and Housing Selection, adjudicates low-level student conduct cases, and collaborates with other campus departments as needed.
The Assistant Hall Director is an 11-month, live-in, part-time position (approximately 25 hours per week), and requires evening and weekend on-call work.

Applicants accepted into a SMWC graduate program to may receive the tuition remission. The offer of a graduate assistantship does not guarantee acceptance into a SMWC graduate program. Students enrolled in graduate programs at other institutions are encouraged to apply; however, will not receive payment for tuition credits.
