Grants Administrator administers the financial control processes of grant activity throughout the grant lifecycle for awarded or received grants to ensure compliance with grant provisions, regulations, standards, timelines, and reporting requirements. Monitors grantee management and disbursement of funds and reviews grantee programs for compliance with the terms of grants. Being a Grants Administrator prepares and submits financial reporting and performs accounting tasks related to managing grant funding received. Tracks and reconciles grant account budgets and expenses. Additionally, Grants Administrator submits any additional information or documentation required by the grant funder. Follows grant accounting best practices and complies with legal regulations. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Grants Administrator work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project.     GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

    The Grants Coordinator is responsible for generating fundraising income from corporate, foundation and government grants. Under the supervision and with guidance from the Director of Corporate & Foundation Engagement, this position is responsible for writing compelling and timely grant requests and completing all grant reporting requirements.


    Budgeted starting salary for this position is approximately $40,000-$45,000 depending on experience. A full benefits package is provided, including health, vision, and dental insurance, short-term and long-term disability insurance, a 401k plan and match, and unlimited paid time off

    Requirements

    MAJOR DUTIES AND SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Research potential foundation and corporate funders to support Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Iowa’s programs.
    • Write grant proposals and coordinate all aspects of proposal production and submission.
    • Write and submit grant reports as needed for funded programs.
    • Maintain grants calendar with updated submission and reporting deadlines.
    • Communicate with potential and current funders as appropriate.
    • Serve as a resource to all necessary program staff to ensure quality implementation and coordination of grant funded programs
      including budgeting and program goal setting; monitor grant restrictions to comply with funding agency.
    • Produce detailed financial reports and budgets in compliance with grant requirements.
    • Collect and maintain local, state and national Boys & Girls Clubs statistics and information.
    • Work with Finance team to track fund disbursement and develop financial reports as per grantor reporting requirements.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor and prospect information in the Donor Perfect database; ensure grant documentation is signed, saved and filed appropriately.
    • Understand how to store, manipulate, and retrieve data from Donor Perfect database. Generate reports as needed by the Development and Finance teams.

    General/Other Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Promote high ethical and professional standards in all activities and with all agency staff.
    • Maintain ethical standards established for fundraising professionals.
    • Maintain confidentiality of donor information.
    • Ensure that supervisor is informed of any recurring or significant problems in a timely manner.
    • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as required or as assigned.

    Education

    Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.


    Experiences

    One-two years’ work experience in a nonprofit with an emphasis on grant writing, persuasive communication, and/or donor relations is preferred. Knowledge of Boys & Girls Clubs programs preferred.
