Position Information
Participates with other counselors, the Assistant Director and Associate Director in the ongoing development and enhancement of the UCR Financial Aid Office processing system (Banner); Maintains state grants records; presents financial aid information both on and off-campus to groups of current and prospective students and campus partners; Active contributor to discussions and recommends change when appropriate to better meet the needs to the populations served; Uses an understanding of the special needs and problems experienced by students from disadvantaged backgrounds and address these needs by offering supportive guidance; Composes correspondence to students and other clients relative to aid eligibility and office policy and procedures; performs special assignments and other duties as assigned by the Assistant Director, Associate Director, or Director of Financial Aid.
The salary range for the State Grants Officer is $59,000 - $103,400 annually. The expected pay scale for this position is up to $78,000 annually. We base placement within these ranges on the individual's qualifications as they relate to this position.
Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff.

Preferred Qualifications
Working knowledge of University policies, processes, and procedures.
Strong proficiency with standard office software as well as internet and email applications. Working knowledge of common University-specific computer application programs.
