JOB SUMMARY:
The Grants Coordinator works in collaboration with the Executive Director of Business and Finance, the Director of Curriculum and leadership assigned to the grants to support the financial operations of the District. This position will be responsible for the accounting, reporting and budget development for 50 grants , including all state, federal and local grants and assist the Executive Director of Business and Finance with district budgeting the general ledger and other areas as assigned, etc. This includes inputting grant budget detail into the corresponding grant software, i.e. MEGS , Nexsys, GEMS/MARS, etc., reconciling all grant expenditures and grant budget spreadsheets, inputting and updating the budget detail in the accounting system, SchoolsOPEN, including creating and updating all appropriate grant codes according to the Michigan School Accounting Manual (Bulletin 1022), completing any state and/or federal reports, working with building and department staff to plan and prepare for expenditures that are in compliance with the grant language and any other duties as assigned by the Executive Director of Business and Finance. These functions will be completed with the use of fund accounting in accordance with the Michigan Public Schools Accounting Manual.
