Administer the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education’s various communication, marketing and public relations initiatives.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Monitor daily news coverage and compile articles for distribution.
- Assist in the development, design and delivery of internal and external publications, updates, tools and other instructional, educational and promotional resources.
- Draft and edit correspondence and meeting minutes, and create spreadsheets, tables, and charts.
- Assist in coordination of the activities of the Communicators Council and serve as a staff liaison to the Executive Committee.
- Plan and execute internal and external meetings and events, including preparing program and meeting materials and providing on-site assistance, as needed.
- Maintain the print resource and departmental equipment inventory.
- Provide agency and departmental photography services, as assigned.
- Provide agency and departmental videography services, including video editing and production in support of communication initiatives.
- Maintain departmental filing systems, distribution lists and supply inventory.
- Coordinate departmental purchasing, document imaging, and travel; process incoming and outgoing mail; and provide telephone coverage for department.
- Participate in agency workgroups and special projects, and perform other similar duties.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent combination of associate degree and professional experience required. Excellent writing and editing skills required. At least two (2) years of experience in corporate communication, print and online content development, publication development, educational campaign development, and/or digital media project administration required; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Position requires outstanding verbal communication, creative, organizational, technical and interpersonal skills; exceptional attention to detail; and ability to multi-task successfully within multiple deadlines. Must be able to work independently, anticipate needs, and work as part of a team. Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite required. Some extended hours and in-state travel required.
Preferred Qualifications
Photography and videography experience in a professional setting a plus. Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, video production applications, digital authoring tools, social media, AP Style Guide and web content management applications preferred.
Supervision
The employee performs work under the supervision of the Associate Vice Chancellor for Communications.
Work Hours Agency offices are open to the public from 8 A.M. to 5 P.M. Monday through Friday. These are the normal office hours for Agency employees. Physical Demands
Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time. Exhibit manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination to operate a computer, keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator and other office equipment. Ability to see and read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids. Ability to hear and understand speech at normal levels, with or without aids. Ability to communicate clearly. Physical ability to lift up to 25 pounds, to bend, stoop, climb stairs, walk and reach. Must use the proper manual handling equipment including but not limited to dollies, carts and lift team members. Duties are normally performed in an office environment with a moderate noise level.
