The Eastern and Western Ranges provide capabilities for customers to safely launch, track and recover spacelift systems as well as perform operational test missions in support of ballistic missile deployment and aircraft flight tests.  

    EWOCS provides communication systems maintenance, operations, and support services for voice, video, data and infrastructure yielding a robust communications capability for a wide range of customers in a dynamic launch environment. As the Space Force continues consolidating communications systems, we are growing as we continue to support these efforts!

    Overview:  

    We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Technical Writer to join our dynamic team. As a Technical Writer you will play a crucial role in creating comprehensive and user-friendly documentation for our complex systems and network solutions. The ideal candidate possesses a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and a passion for translating complex technical information into clear and accessible documentation. 

    Responsibilities

    • Create and maintain detailed documentation including user manuals, installation guides, configuration guides, and troubleshooting guides. 
    • Collaborate with subject matter experts, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather information and ensure accuracy in documentation. 
    • Structure documentation in a logical and coherent manner, ensuring information is easily navigable and accessible for both technical and non-technical users. 
    • Implement and maintain a consistent and standardized documentation style and format. 
    • Develop a deep understanding of complex systems and network architectures to accurately convey technical information to a diverse audience. 
    • Stay updated on the latest technologies and industry best practices to ensure documentation relevance and effectiveness. 
    • Conduct regular reviews and updates of existing documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and relevance. 
    • Collaborate with quality assurance teams to validate and test documentation against system implementations. 
    • Respond to user feedback, inquiries, and issues related to documentation. 

    Required Experience/Qualifications

    • Minimum Education - 2 years College, or AA.  
    •  10 years document management experience
    • Generic IT reckoning sufficient to discern between bizarre proper nouns that include punctuation marks as they relate to overall grammar. 
    • Ability to articulate technical concepts clearly and concisely in written and verbal communication. 
    • Sufficient technical skill to accurately interpret and comprehend complex IT terminology and proper nouns within their grammatical context. 
    • Capability to bridge the gap between technical subject matter experts and end-users through effective communication. 
    • Proven experience in detecting and resolving typical documentation challenges, such as inconsistent date formats, font-mismatch-chaining, misapplication of similar acronyms, and mixing characters that are similar in appearance. 
    • Strong familiarity with business development documentation, understanding the connection between technical documentation and organizational growth. 
    • Previous experience in document management, including version control and organization of extensive documentation repositories. 
    • Demonstrated ability to self-teach IT skills, staying abreast of evolving technologies and adapting to new tools and methodologies.
