The Frontier League office is looking to fill a seasonal, entry level position for the 2024 season based out of the New York/New Jersey area. This position will work directly with the Deputy Commissioner and the media/public relations directors for our 16 teams.
This position is geared toward a recent college graduate looking to build a resume and make contacts in professional baseball.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Serve as the liaison between teams and the League’s statistical provider
- Complete, coordinate and execute training on the League’s official scoring software
- Support daily updates of www.frontierleague.com
- Exponentially grow the Frontier League’s aggregate social media following via existing and new platforms
- Coordinate registrations for the annual Frontier League Tryout Camp and Draft
- Write, review, edit, and publish content for FL websites, marketing materials, and social platforms.
- Generate nightly recap of games from the recaps submitted by the winning teams for our website and social media platforms
- Develop stories promoting the Player and Pitcher of the Week award winners
- Film/record interviews with managers and players to capture and promote significant achievements
- Assist in production of an updated annual media guide
- Organize the annual Frontier League Hall of Fame Class and develop content surrounding inductees.
- Serve as an official scorer as needed
- Oversee voting for the league All-Star Game voting
- On-site assistance at League All-Star Events
- Oversee voting for the post-season awards
- Communicate with team public relations directors and broadcasters regarding league events and milestones
- Prepare press releases on significant league events
Qualifications
- Excellent verbal, written, analytical and organization communication skills
- Experience in social media management
- Knowledge of digital media landscape, sports industry experience preferred
- Experience in graphic design and video production; Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Premier Pro, After Effects, Illustrator, and InDesign) experience preferred
- Ability to travel regionally during the season
Night and weekend availability is required. Through Opening Day (May 9) the majority of the work will occur during the day. Once the regular season begins, most work will take place on afternoons and evenings. The majority of work can be done remotely, though you will be expected to see each team in the East Division once per month at any of our four New Jersey/New York ballparks.
The role will work in conjunction with our Digital Marketing Assistant, who is based out of Chicago, who performs many of the same duties covering the West Division teams.
The position will run through September 30, 2024.
