The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) seeks a USER ACCESS ASSOCIATE to staff the HUB Service Desk at Sterne Library and to provide services to all library users, in person and remotely, including nights and weekends. To manage accessibility and physical condition of library collections. To collect and compile statistics and prepare reports as needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assists patrons with ready-reference and directional questions and inquiries about library.
2. Creates and updates patron records; creates records for library material to allow for circulation; processes guest researcher accounts for unaffiliated patrons.
3. Assists users in the use of specialized equipment.
4. Supervises and mentors student workers and assists with recruitment, screening, hiring, training, and performance evaluation.
5. Collects and compiles statistics including library usage and circulation of materials.
6. Carries out interlibrary loan procedures for incoming and outgoing library materials.
7. Documents and responds to building problems.
8. Serves on committees and participates in staff development opportunities.
9. Performs other duties as assigned.
(Hourly Rate: $15.00 - $23.55)
Bachelor's degree required. Work experience may substitute for education requirement.
