    The User Experience Designer is a member of the digital platform team responsible for establishing a User Experience (UX) practice that supports Southern New Hampshire University in its strategic and business goals to deliver student success at every online touch-point that intersects with the CRM through a best in class customer experience (Cx)

    This role will provide user experience design expertise to support the delivery of a UX review of CRM functionality with an emphasis on the portal and community capabilities. Candidate will be stepped in the methods of User Research, User Experience Design, Customer Experience (Cx), Usability Testing, and ADA Compliance. The UX designer will work closely with Student Experience and Marketing teams at SNHU to help define, align, and execute on the overall Cx strategy. 

    The role will deliver value to the University by providing the insights to optimize staff and learner experiences, helping to drive desired behaviors and outcomes, and supporting and/or elevating the SNHU brand across devices, contexts, audiences, and digital platforms. 

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Assist with executing the UX strategy for staff and learner facing CRM properties; specifically within the portal capabilities 
    • Advocate for and be the voice of our online users with a focus on Cx and customer centricity
    • Educate SNHU and digital platform teams on the value of UX and its best practices, and how this supports and intersects with Cx
    • Support SNHU’s Unify staff in the practice of WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) for online properties as part of the University’s commitment to the American Disabilities Act
    • Coalesce research artifacts such as customer journey maps, voice of the customer research and any other visitor segmentation to guide the University to optimize its strategies and resources specific to CRM capabilities
    • Shepherd a unified, branded, and delightful experience across all CRM public-facing, online platforms
    • Collaborate across departments and disciplines to understand business goals, generate user insights, and translate those needs into impactful outcomes
    • Implement efficient UX/UI processes to help the Product Owner and Solutions team achieve their best possible work as they support marketing managers, developers and other key stakeholders
    • Work closely with Product Owners & Solutions management, Marketing, and scrum teams to design and execute UX designed experiences
    • Manage Usability Testing platform and execute Usability tests.
    • Accurately scope and estimate front-end deliverables
    • Contribute, develop, and follow detailed technical specifications
    • Relentlessly aspire to improve and have a positive, can-do attitude
    • Create and manage building a modularized, functional Design System

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • 3-5 years as a UX designer or similar role demonstrating expertise in web sites, software applications, or products
    • Well-developed sense of empathy combined with an ability to move the needle when it comes to implementation based on insights
    • Strong understanding of both marketing, CRM technology, and their intersection with UX
    • Knowledge of and experience in UX core competencies, including common UX research practices (surveys, in-person interviews, analytics review, card sorting, tree testing, Lean UX facilitation, and usability testing) as well as experience delivering UX artifacts, including personas, information architecture, wireframes, customer journey maps, and workflows
    • Knowledge of and experience in WCAG 2.0 Level AA compliance
    • Experience delivering A/B testing
    • Experience in website redesign
    • Great communication skills, with experience leading projects and working across disciplines

    Preferred Qualifications: (Optional)

    • Bachelor’s Degree in graphic, industrial, human factor, human-computer interaction design, psychology, sociology, or equivalent professional experience; Master’s degree, a plus
    • Experience working with responsive design, UX tools (Axure), and Agile methodologies

    Working Environment and Physical Requirements:

    Office Hours: Monday through Friday 8:00 am – 4:30 pm with flexibility to meet business demands as needed. 

    Occasional travel to conferences may be required.

    Professional office environment. Sedentary work: Requires remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
