Translates design mockups and wireframes into code for website and web-based application UI. Being a Graphical User Interface (GUI) Programmer designs prototypes; writes and tests code for new or existing applications. Identifies new technologies that can add additional visual display capabilities and enhance site usability. The Interface Engineer is responsible for design, development, and maintenance of interfaces that exchange data between the electronic medical record system and other data driven systems, both internal and external. This position reports to the Director of Clinical Systems and regularly collaborates with all areas of IT and various operational areas of the hospital system. A strong understanding of raw clinical data, interface engine workflows, and data transformations is required. Direct outreach clinical staff and vendor partners is common. Strong project management and technical documentation skills are necessary to ensure the interface environment is adaptable and maintainable.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in MIS, Computer Science, or related experience.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years’ experience directly supporting healthcare IT interface infrastructure, preferably with tools such as Lyniate Rhapsody and Epic Bridges.
Licensure/Certification:
Working Knowledge: Fluency in the underlying technologies used in healthcare interoperability and information exchange.
