Grinder operates grinding machines to assemble products and product parts to established blueprint and engineering specifications. Selects, mounts, attaches and calibrates a variety of attachments to grind angles, contours, lines, spheres, etc. on to surfaces. Being a Grinder requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Grinder works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Machine Operator/Production
This is a manufacturing job at a small company that manufacturers Industrial Ceramic Products.
We currently have 17 emplpyees
This position will be working in a fast-paced. modern machine shop environment at a growing manufacturing company.
Employment Duties Include
-Sawing bulk material into handleable pieces on Vertical band Saw
-Precision Sawing of handleable pieces into oversized shape on Vertical band Saw
-Precision surface grinding of oversized shape into final product dimensions
-Inspection of production dimensions using calipers, gauges, and micrometers.
Previously acquired machine shop or ceramic manufacturing skills are helpful to learning employment duties, but not a job requirement for hiring. Previously acquired skills in carpentry, woodworking, metal fabrication are helpful but not a job requirement for hiring.
This is a 55 hour week position that is NOT temporary or seasonal. Our regular overtime shift has been in place CONTINUOUSLY at our company for over TWENTY years . Many of our employees have been with us for 10-25 years and ALMOST ALL of our manufacturing employees work 55 plus hours per week.
New Employees will start at $20.00 per hour, with 15 hours overtime per week. In weeks where there is no vacation or holiday and no time missed, gross wages will be $1250.00.
New Employees will be given quarterly reviews in their first year and semi annual reviews in their second year of employment.
As new employees demonstrate improvement and growth in their productivity, quality, and process skills, their hourly wage will be moved up gradually, and done the review periods, toward reaching a hourly wage of $25.00/hour.
Some recent hires have reached this milestone by the end of their first year with shown positive performance, ability, productivity, and attitude.
