Grinding and Polishing Worker, Hand jobs in Chattanooga, TN

Duties and Requirements of the Job:

• Starting up and shutting down of the grinder.
• Adjust setting if needed in communication with supervisor and within process specification.
• Monitors quality.
• Ensure the grinder has correct raw materials.
• Responsible for housekeeping of the grinding room
• Train other operators as authorized. Undertake training as required.
• Load and unload materials and parts as needed.
• Check product and visually inspect.
• Work under general supervision, performing routine and complex manufacturing processes and associated documents.
• Flexible to transfer to any other duties considered necessary to meet the needs of the business.
• Always wear appropriate safety protection and ensure compliance with Health & Safety policy and procedures.
• Maintain one's own work area to established housekeeping standards.
• Perform to meet departmental goals and quality targets.
• Help identify and eliminate issues with safety, quality, and production.

Training, Knowledge and Experience (May Be Required or Preferred, at the discretion of the hiring team)

• High School diploma or GED.
• Basic computer skills.
• Ability to cross train and perform additional duties as needed.
• 1 years’ experience in a manufacturing operation, with experience operating a lift truck/forklift and inventory scanning system.
• Must be legally authorized to work in US without a sponsorship now or in the future.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Working Conditions:

• Occasionally lifts and / or carries up to 50 pounds.
• Maneuvers in, around, under and about factory.
• Some of work time is spent sitting, standing, walking, lifting and bending.
• Works within a manufacturing and may be exposed to heat, cold and fumes/chemicals.
• PPE must be worn as required.
