Summary
The Cell Tower Top Hand is responsible for the overall success and safety of erecting, installing, and maintaining wireless telecommunication towers and interrelated equipment on client sites. The Technician will be responsible for modifying, repairing, installing or maintaining mobile or stationary radio transmitting, broadcasting, and receiving equipment, and two‐way radio communications systems used in cellular telecommunications, mobile broadband, ship‐to‐shore, aircraft‐to‐ground communications, and radio equipment in service and emergency vehicles in accordance with all applicable plans, specifications, codes and industry standards.
This role is focused on providing our customers an exemplary level of service by exhibiting a high-level of professionalism while adhering to workplace health and safety requirements in all tasks. The Tower Technician is also responsible for understanding and maintaining processes and procedures that will drive profitability and enhance company margins.
Essential Job Functions
· Use appropriate hand and power tools to properly measure, cut, bend, assemble and erect all components necessary for lifting, moving and installing equipment, materials, lines, antennae etc. in accordance with the applicable plans, specifications codes and industry standards.
· Inspect completed work to ensure all hardware is tight, antennas are level, hangers are properly fastened, proper support is in place, or adequate weather proofing has been installed.
· Participate in all safety related processes and programs as requested. Engage with your work team to ensure we achieve zero injuries. Understand that no job is so important that your safety and that of your crew will be compromised. Watch for hazards and report any concerns to your supervisor or safety professional. If needed, use your stop work authority until the issue is resolved.
· Report all accidents and near-misses to supervisor; participate in investigation process as needed.
· Participate in all pre‐job work planning and safety discussions; identify safety hazards you or other employees may be subject to and take all necessary corrective action to eliminate and/or mitigate hazards.
· Understand and respond appropriately to all safety hazards and warning devices (i.e. back‐up alarms, smell of smoke, different colored warning tags, warning sirens).
· Understand, support, and follow lockout tag out procedures; attend site specific training and ensure all procedures as outlined in training are followed.
· Follow established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean work environment.
· Demonstrate self-led behavior with minimum oversight and supervision
· Mentors crew members in all areas of tower services
· Read and comprehend CD’s and RFD Documents
· Listen to co-worker’s suggestions, safety concerns, and recommendations while giving full attention and taking the time to understand the points being made, asking questions and providing feedback when appropriate.
· Examine/inspect field conditions and identify problems, inaccuracies, and cost-saving measures that arise or that may be encountered; take corrective actions as needed and report any issues to leadership.
· Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Qualifications
· Possess three years’ experience as a tower technician working on all structures such as monopole, self-standing, guyed towers, and roof tops.
· Experience should include antenna and line upgrades, steel mod projects, and potentially microwave installation and alignment.
· Must be in good physical condition, with the ability to climb heights of 200 ft and up.
· Willingness to travel throughout the week, although we focus on keeping people close to home for weekends.
· A creative and innovative thinker to bring successful resolution to customer and personnel issues.
· Strong oral and written communication, problem solving and interpersonal skills; ability to quickly build rapport with both customer and PG Technology business units.
· Proven track record of taking initiative to accomplish tasks in creative ways with a sense of urgency and assertiveness, while successfully understanding and following direction.
· The ability to prioritize tasks while rationally considering the outcomes of key decisions.
· Must be at least 18 years of age.

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this position the employee is regularly required to repeatedly talk and listen, and sit, stand, walk, and climb for extended periods of time. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and drive or ride in a motor vehicle. The employee must regularly be able to lift and carry up to 75 lbs., up to six (6) to eight (8) hours/day. Will need to perform these duties in all weather conditions/climates, including heat, cold, rain, snow, etc. Must have the ability to travel, sometimes with short notice.
